Performance Engineering Operation Program (PEO) is designed to provide trainees with engineering skills and competencies as a foundation for their progression to further skills development. This is achieved at EnergyTech through a balanced combination of engineering theory and practical hands-on experience to ensure that students can safely progress onto their Specialized Award training. Each trainee will complete academic and critical skills training before beginning the program.
After completing the program, trainees in their relevant job skill areas will be selected for the Specialized Award program.
Upon completing the program, the graduates will be able to:
- Work safely in the engineering environment by complying with statutory regulations and organizational requirements.
- Recognize and control hazards in the workplace and follow accident and emergency procedures.
- Use correct manual lifting and handling techniques to avoid injury.
- Use the approved source to obtain the required data, documentation, or specifications.
- Extract and interpret information from engineering drawings or specifications.
- Plan and safely carry out an engineering activity.
- Obtain appropriate tools and equipment for the activity and ensure they are safe and usable.
- Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and others in the workplace.
